  10.                                | joke program that flips the screen upside
  11.                                | down, wallpaper and all. The screen reverts
  12.                                | to normal when you click the mouse.
  13. PC_VD.EXE       16482  12-11-92  PC-VD (Merriman, David; $?) is an amusing
  14.                                | little program that pokes fun at viruses and
  15.                                | the hoopla surrounding them. Requires
  16.                                | VBRUN100.
  17. PSLJOKE.EXE      9290  09-20-92  PsL Jokester (Ford, Nelson ASP; $0) is a
  18.                                | harmless practical joke to pull on someone.
  19.                                | We won't spoil it by telling you what it
  20.                                | does. Requires VBRUN.
  21. RUNNIN.ZIP       2631  08-18-88  Runnin ($0) is an amusing little desktop
  22.                                | joke. It creates a small window that runs
  23.                                | away from your mouse cursor. You must try to
  24.                                | catch it and click on the close button.
  25.                                | Requires VBRUN300.
  26. AUTO_CN.EXE     28665  08-15-91  Auto Concentration 1.0 (Leonardo, Lou and
  27.                                | Howman, Cean; $20) is an interesting and
  28.                                | challenging version of Concentration. You
  29.                                | turn over squares trying to match up
  30.                                | different automobile manufacturer logos. The
  31.                                | three levels of difficulty give you a 4x4,
  32.                                | 6x6, or 10x6 board to solve. A top ten list
  33.                                | is maintained. This is lots of fun, with
  34.                                | great colors and many playing options.
  35. CONCEN.ZIP      30291  08-18-88  Concentration Challenge 1.0 (Thomas R.
  36.                                | Weiss; $10) is a colorful version of the
  37.                                | classic matching game. Requires VBRUN300.
  38. DBM10.ZIP      312547  07-06-93  Double Match 1.0 (Puraty, Dan; $12) is a
  39.                                | colorful animated game of Concentration for
  40.                                | Windows 3.1. Up to four players take turns
  41.                                | matching pictures to reveal parts of a
  42.                                | hidden phrase. You can play against computer
  43.                                | opponents with intelligence levels from dumb
  44.                                | to expert. Other features include amusing
  45.                                | sound effects, top 10 score recording,
  46.                                | hidden bonus squares, and more. A sound card
  47.                                | is recommended.
  48. FLIPOUT.EXE     64636  05-20-92  Flip Out! 3.0 (Johnson, Kent; $20) is a
  49.                                | Concentration-type game for Windows. You can
  50.                                | play against others, or against the
  51.                                | computer. Several game types are provided
  52.                                | including matching dice with their totals,
  53.                                | clock faces to digital time, coins to their
  54.                                | amounts, and fractions. Games can be scored
  55.                                | against the clock, or by how many matches
  56.                                | you achieve. Other features include custom
  57.                                | board sizes, high score lists, and much
  58.                                | more. VBRUN is required.
  59. MATCHES.EXE    229736  05-21-91  Matches (Quality Concepts; $10) is a unique
  60.                                | "Concentration" game. In addition to trying
  61.                                | to remember/match hidden pictures, there is
  62.                                | an option to match pictures and words. This
  63.                                | is an excellent game for both children and
  64.                                | adults. A hard disk is required. (The
  65.                                | authors are no longer at the address
  66.                                | provided in the documentation.)
  67. MEMTILES.ZIP    80540  12-06-93  Memory Tiles (Patch, Kevin L.; $10) is an
  68.                                | attractive Concentration type game. You can
  69.                                | use either shapes or pictures for tiles, or
  70.                                | a combination of both. Several different
  71.                                | sizes of playing grids are provided, or you
  72.                                | can create a custom grid of any dimensions.
  73. NCRUNCH.EXE     17348  11-20-92  Number Crunch 2.0 (Persky, Jon; $5) is a
  74.                                | memory game that requires you to turn up the
  75.                                | hidden numbers 1-20 in order. The better you
  76.                                | can remember the location of numbers you
  77.                                | have already seen, the faster you can solve
  78.                                | the puzzle, which is the goal of the game.
  79. SIMN_JE.EXE     18655  12-12-91  Simon 1.01 (Elkins, Jeff; $0) is a variation
  80.                                | of the Simon Says game. You must click on
  81.                                | the colors, trying to match the sequence
  82.                                | played by the computer. VBRUN is required.
  83. AUTOCELL.ZIP   138531  07-27-93  AutoCell 1.1 (Paul Keet; $10) lets you
  84.                                | design cellular automatons and cellular
  85.                                | computers (similar to Game of Life theory).
  86. CELLWAR.ZIP     74596  12-06-93  Cell War 1.0 (Funk, Al ASP; $5) is a battle
  87.                                | to the death for two rival microorganisms.
  88.                                | As you place new microbes on the grid, they
  89.                                | will either grow and propagate or die
  90.                                | depending on their placement. You can play
  91.                                | against a friend or a computer opponent with
  92.                                | variable levels of difficulty. Requires
  93.                                | WIN31 and a mouse.
  94. LIFE_DS.EXE      6636  06-18-92  The Game of Life 1.0 (Stafford, David; $0)
  95.                                | is a game of cellular survivial for Windows.
  96.                                | There are several different species of
  97.                                | cells, including Snowflake, Glider,
  98.                                | Spaceship, Seed, and others. You simply
  99.                                | plant them on the screen and watch their
  100.                                | struggles. You can zoom in and out on the

  106. 21CT.EXE        43038  12-15-92  21 CardTrick 1.1 (MOJO Software; $7) is a
  107.                                | magic trick for Windows. Three rows of cards
  108.                                | are displayed. You pick one and the computer
  109.                                | figures out which it is.
  110. B_ARROW.ZIP     31888  07-16-93  Bow & Arrow 1.0 (Di Troia, John; $12) is an
  111.                                | entertaining hand-eye coordination game.
  112.                                | Having seen bow-and-arrow type games that
  113.                                | were not very interesting, we were prepared
  114.                                | to be disappointed again, which made this
  115.                                | one all the more enjoyable. In the first
  116.                                | stage, balloons float up the screen and you
  117.                                | must shoot them all before you run out of
  118.                                | arrows. On the second level, you must again
  119.                                | shoot the red balloons, but without hitting
  120.                                | the yellow balloons. The third level, in
  121.                                | which you must pop bubbles to let the
  122.                                | butterflys trapped in them fly away, is easy
  123.                                | enough to lull you to sleep, only to get
  124.                                | "slimed" on the next level. We never got
  125.                                | beyond level four, not being nimble enough
  126.                                | to avoid being slimed, so you will have to
  127.                                | discover for yourself what awaits you on the
  128.                                | higher levels.
  129. BLCKOUT.EXE     40540  10-12-91  Blackout (Mills, Patrick; $12) is a
  130.                                | challenging hand-eye coordination game.
  131. CTEST_W.EXE     14058  05-12-92  Color Test for Windows 2.0 (Wilkins, Terry;
  132.                                | $15) gives you a personality profile based
  133.                                | on the colors you like best.
  134. GTG.ZIP        645150  07-31-93  Get The Girl! (JAB Software; $20) is an
  135.                                | adult oriented role-playing game for
  136.                                | Windows. The goal of your character is to
  137.                                | successfully answer a series of questions by
  138.                                | a beautiful girl in hopes of going out with
  139.                                | her. When a question is asked, you must
  140.                                | choose from a menu of possible answers. If
  141.                                | she likes your response, you are allowed
  142.                                | more questions. The 256-color pictures,
  143.                                | digitized voices/sound effects, and MIDI
  144.                                | soundtrack are very well done. Requires
  145.                                | WIN31 and VBRUN200. A sound card is highly
  146.                                | recommended. (The authors can no longer be
  147.                                | reached at the address provided in the
  148.                                | documentation.)
  149. ICHINGW.EXE     58424  02-17-92  I Ching for Windows 1.01 (Pocket-Sized
  150.                                | Software; $10) provides an interpretation of
  151.                                | an ancient Oriental form of fortune-telling.
  152.                                | Sixty-four hexagrams and their meanings are
  153.                                | provided, and you can randomly select one
  154.                                | after posing a question or view each one
  155.                                | individually.
  156. NNNW.ZIP       301782  07-31-93  Neural Ned in NEDS WORLD 1.00 (David
  157.                                | Smiczek; $14) train a small creature to
  158.                                | survive.
  159. OUIJA.EXE       39011  03-19-93  Ouija 2.21 (Gifford, Scott; $5) is a
  160.                                | computerized Ouija board program in which
  161.                                | the spirits guide your mouse around the
  162.                                | board to spell out answers to your
  163.                                | questions. (Haven't those spirits heard of
  164.                                | Modems?)
  165. TSETSE.EXE       9631  12-03-92  Tsetse ($0) is the world's smallest arcade
  166.                                | game! The whole game takes place on the
  167.                                | program's icon. The goal is for you to
  168.                                | "shoot" objects as they fly by, using the
  169.                                | right button on the mouse to click the
  170.                                | cursor on them. High score and the current
  171.                                | score is displayed in what is normally the
  172.                                | icon's title. Not the most challenging
  173.                                | arcade game in the world, but one of the
  174.                                | cutest and cleverest.
  175. WINWIZ.EXE     206417  06-15-92  Windows Wizard (Campbell, George; $0) is an
  176.                                | animated fortune-telling game. You simply
  177.                                | type in a question, and the Wizard will
  178.                                | answer you in an eerie voice. (The Wizard's
  179.                                | mouth moves and eyes blink.) Requires
  180.                                | Windows 3.1, sound card, and VBRUN.
